Update

I tried to get a picture of one sick-with-the-flu-and-an-ear-infection and three wiggly kiddos to frame for Gram's hospital room. It's only half blurry, so success!

She is still in the ICU in critical, but stable condition. They are trying to slowly bring her out of the coma now, but she is still unresponsive. She's had 2 of 4 surgeries that she needs, and the next 48 hours will probably tell a lot. It is really difficult and so scary to see her like this, but we are staying positive. My heart aches for her when she does come to and realizes what has happened.
If there is any testament to the wonderful person Karen is, it is the way that her 3 sons and husband vigilantly care for her right now. They are nearly constantly by her side and have decorated her room for Christmas.
