For family night last week we did a treasure hunt, and the boys loved it so much I think we'll use it again, but maybe with scriptures that they have to look up for the clues or an Easter theme.
This time we just did a simple Q and A before the hunt
(trying to work with a 3 year old's attention span here).
What is this? (A treasure map)
How do you get the treasure? (Follow the clues and map)
Did you know Heavenly Father and Jesus have a treasure for us? (Yes!)
What is it? (Living with them someday, being with our family forever, happiness etc etc)
But how do we get their treasure? (Read scriptures, pray, church, listen to parents, etc etc)
After that we did a little treasure hunt that I had set up around the house and the final clue led to their scriptures where their candy treasure was hiding.
It was really simple, but such a hit with the boys (who are currently obsessed with all things pirate) I thought I'd pass along the idea. :)
